Accommodations for Pregnant Employees.

The Minnesota Court of Appeals published a decision today that clarifies a previously unclear area of the law regarding pregnancy accommodations.  The case involved a pregnant woman who had been working for her employer for less than a year when she requested an accommodation for pregnancy.  The employer was under the impression that it was not required to give accommodations to an employee who had been working for less than a year.  But the Court held that it does not matter how long a pregnant employee has worked for the employer.  Employers must consider reasonable accommodations for any pregnant employee, regardless of how recently that pregnant person was hired.
